Ukraine's exports of ferronickel (FeNi) fell 24.4% year-on-year to 46,600 mt in January through July from 61,650 mt a year earlier, the state statistics service reported Thursday.

Revenues from exports of FeNi dropped 40% to $97.8 million from $163.1 million in January-July 2015, the statistics service said.

Over January through July Ukraine exported 21,046 mt of ferronickel to Italy, up from 12,870 mt a year ago, while supplies to Finland surged to 6,960 mt from zero.

At the same time, exports to the Netherlands fell to 14,210 mt from 28,850 mt, supplies to Britain dropped to 1,550 mt from 4,630 mt and deliveries to China plunged to 2,610 from 9,140 mt.

In July alone, Ukraine exported 5,300 mt of FeNi, down from 13,280 mt exported in July 2015.

Ukraine's exports of ferrotitanium (FeTi) in January-July rose to 1,520 mt worth $4.9 million, compared with 1,360 mt worth $5 million a year earlier, the committee said.

Ukraine ships ferrotitanium mostly to the Netherlands and Germany.

In 2015, Ukraine exported 97,040 mt of FeNi, down 6.2% year-on-year. Exports of FeTi fell 11.2% year-on-year to 2,450 mt.

Ukraine's only ferronickel smelter, Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant, is capable of producing about 100,000 mt of FeNi a year. The company exports most of the output.
