In recent years, China's oil refining scale expands rapidly and oil refining capacity has reached 560 million tons / year at the end of 2010. Now China has become the second largest oil refining country only after the U.S.in the world. At the same time, the camp of China oil refining industry expands increasingly. Besides Sinopec and CNPC (two major oil refining enterprises in China), CNOOC, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group and other state-owned & private oil companies develop rapidly the oil refining business and Total, Exxon Mobil, Saudi Aramco, Shell and other foreign companies have also joined, at present China has formed the oil refining industry new pattern that the coexistence of diverse forms of ownership and the diversification of market competition.
In concert with the multi-game of domestic refining territory, CNOOC, ChemChina, Sinochem and Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group accelerate sales field layout of the oil products, as well as multinational oil companies enter and achieve considerable success. The largest independent refineries sector --- Shandong independent refineries has also realized the large rise. In some areas and fields, the private refining companies have become an irreplaceable part.
Around these hot spots, Independent Refineries China Summit (CPEC), which has so far been successfully held for four years, together with five groups, 30 independent refineries, 300 Chinese and foreign oil enterprises, taking "multinational oil enterprises and private oil enterprises" as the subject, taking "monopoly, competition and cooperation"as the theme.
