　　With the global financial turmoil caused by U.S. sub-loan crisis intensifying and the international crude oil prices slumping in the second half of 2008, methanol and dimethyl ether demands were greatly depressed, followed by continuing sales decrease. DME’s economic advantage no longer existed. Lack of alcohol ether fuel standards, the market gradually returned to rely on conventional energy sources. Now, in the context of high raw materials cost and depressed demand of down-stream fields, the DME enterprises face unprecedented operation pressure. Under the financial crisis, how long will the frozen period of alcohol ether fuels last? Can new energy alcohol ether fuels continue to be new growth points for methanol demand?
