| In 2010, as the global economy has stabilized to well and the chemical industry of developed countries walked out the low vale, China chemical industry has entered a new round of prosperous cycle. Examining outlook of 2011, China petrochemical market will continue to face the plight of domestic productivity expansion and overseas cheap supply shocks. Thereinto, the polyolefin and methanol methyl alcohol suffered the biggest impact from foreign supply. Taking Iran and Saudi Arabia as the precursor, the productivity soaring of Middle East made this region occupy the center position of world production of olefin and its derivatives. To 2010, (including new construction and expansion) the 50% of world new olefins and derivatives productivity will be in the Middle East. China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association was founded on April 28, 2001 in Beijing. This is another big leap in management system of petroleum and chemical industry after the major change of government's economic management functions from Chemical Industry Ministry to State Petroleum and Chemical Industry Bureau in 1998. China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association currently has more than 200 member units.
