German BASF to deepen cooperation with Belarus

MINSK – The German chemical company BASF is considering a possibility to launch new projects in Belarus, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), Mikhail Myasnikovich, told reporters on 7 July, BelTA has learnt.
The Vice-President of the German concern is now on a visit to Belarus. “We are discussing joint projects, including those with Belneftekhim, the German company has put forward cooperation proposals in other industries, too,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
According to him, Belarus has developed good partner relations with BASF. The cooperation with other German companies is gaining momentum, too. “They have a good attitude to Belarus and the Belarusian economy,” the head of the NASB said.
Mikhail Myasnikovich added that sometimes one can here that Belarus focuses on cooperation with eastern partners. “It is not correct. Europe is interested in economic cooperation with Belarus, and welcomes the progress our country is making. Young scientists, progressive technologies and projects are a testimony to the fact that Belarus has a bright future ahead,” he said.
