Argentina’s president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner visited China today at the invitation of China’s president Hu Jintao.

Meanwhile, a business delegation consisting of people from Argentina’s industry and agriculture industry, including Horacio Moscetto, secretary general of Argentine Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) and Raul Zylbersztein, chairman of Argentine Chamber of Leather Goods and Related Products (CIMA) accompanied the president.

Marcelo Fernandez, CGRRA’s chairman who led the delegation said that the major object of the delegation was to export commodities with higher added value to make up for its food and raw materials exporting.

According to Horacio, the purposes for the delegation to China were to sign trade agreements over $10 billion and improve the exporting condition of its country.

In view of shoes exported from western country, it was necessary for western shoe exporters to develop more high-quality products to satisfy the high property needs of Chinese customers.

Besides, as CIC implemented penalty tariff on China’s shoes exported, which resulted China to warn the imports traders not to purchase Argentina’s soybean oil because of its low quality. However, members in CIC and CIMA all had related oil business. As a result, what agreements would be reach between the two nations remained unclear.
