China's Home Appliances Sales in Rural Area Hit RMB 67.8 Billion in H1

China's Ministry of Commerce yesterday announced that the country sold a number of 32.52 million home appliances to the rural area for a total of RMB 67.8 billion in the first half of this year, and the sales revenue was even more than RMB 64.7 billion the total sales in 2009.


Last month, China's home appliance sales in the rural area were 2.5 times it realized in the same month of 2009, totaling RMB 13.46 billion, and the sales of the top three products are refrigerators, televisions and water heaters, with the value of RMB 5.5 billion, RMB 3.15 billion and RMB 1.3 billion, respectively.


Henan Province sold the most home appliances with sales reaching RMB 1.88 billion in June, followed by Shandong Province, Anhui Province, Hebei Province and Sichuan Province with RMB 1.5 billion, RMB 990 million, RMB 950 million and RMB 860 million, respectively.


The top five product brands by sales volume are Haier, Hisense, Midea, skyworth and TCL, sources reported.
