Poland's TDI Facility Failed to Restart

https://www.chemnet.com   Jul 26,2010
Due to severe technical problem, Zachem’s TDI manufacturing facility located in Bydgoszcz, Poland failed to restart for the third time, people from the company said on July 20. The facility shut down for maintenance from June 24 and was scheduled to resume production last week.

Insiders said the facility might resume production by the end of this week.

The 75kt/y TDI facility of Zachem was the only TDI facility in Poland. Besides, Hungary Borsodchem’s 90kt/y TDI facility also shutdown for maintenance on July 13 due to technical fault. Market players indicated that shutdown of the two facilities in Middle Europe will impact on TDI supply in that region.
