China: PetroChina Fushun Petchem sets Aug crude oil throughput target stable at 780,000mt

PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical is scheduled to process 780,000mt of crude oil in August, flat with the previous month, a source with the refinery told C1.
The refinery is considering shutting down 3.5-mil-mt/yr No. 1 plant in 2011, due to safety hazard of its location, the source revealed.
Fushun Petrochemical, located in Fushun City of Northeast China's Liaoning Province, has a topping capacity of 19-mil mt per year; however, it keeps 7.5-mil-mt/yr crude oil distillate units idle because of poor capacity of afflicted secondary units. It mainly refines domestic Daqing crude oil and Liaohe crude oil. Adapting to sour crude, the refinery may not tap Sino-Russia crude oil pipeline in the future.
