　　This year, China will focus on soybeans and corn, and launch the project to increase the unit yield of major grain and oil crops. All localities will take multiple measures in terms of variety, technology, machine harvest reduction and other aspects to promote the improvement of the unit yield of major grain and oil crops.

　　This is what the reporter learned from the meeting of the directors of the National Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on January 18.

　　The director of the Central Agriculture Office and minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said at the meeting that all localities should come up with a package of plans to demonstrate and promote a number of high-yield, high-quality and dense-resistant varieties, integrate the use of high-yield and high-yield technology models, carry out the establishment of high-yield grain and oil crop integration system in the whole county, continue to pay attention to the reduction of machine income, and strive to significantly improve the unit yield of main grain and oil crops.

　　It is understood that this year, China will go all out to win another bumper grain harvest, grasp the task of breaking down the grain production targets, compact the planting area by varieties, improve the disaster prevention and mitigation mechanism, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers and new agricultural operators to grow grain, and ensure that the annual grain output remains above 650 billion kilos.

　　In terms of ensuring the production of grain and oil crops and increasing the unit yield, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will take the following measures:

　　We will continue to expand the planting of soybean oil crops, make overall arrangements for the rotation of grain, soybean and cotton beans, expand the belt compound planting of soybean and corn in suitable areas, and expand the area and increase the yield with more oil. This year, we will expand the planting of soybean oil crops by more than 10 million mu.

　　We will make great efforts to strengthen the protection and construction of cultivated land, coordinate with relevant departments to make up for the permanent basic farmland, formulate an implementation plan to gradually turn all permanent basic farmland into high standard farmland, make overall arrangements for the construction, transformation and upgrading of 80 million mu of high standard farmland annually, open channels to increase investment, accelerate the filling of irrigation and drainage and other shortcomings, and practically promote the control of cultivated land planting purposes.

　　Quickly launch the action to increase the production capacity of 100 billion tons of new grain, promote the R&D and application of technical equipment, and more adopt the method of system integration, so as to strive for breakthroughs in short-board technologies such as high-yield and high-oil soybean, short-growing rape, and applicable machinery in hilly and mountainous areas as soon as possible, form comprehensive solutions, and promote the implementation and effectiveness of agricultural scientific research achievements on a large scale.
