On October 16th, the commodity price index BPI was 900 points, a decrease of 1 point from yesterday, a decrease of 32.99% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 36.36% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on October 16, 2024, a total of 21 commodities showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical industry sector (8 in total) and the agricultural and sideline sector (5 in total). The top 3 commodities with the highest increase were rapeseed oil (1.65%), sulfur (1.63%), and soybean oil (1.47%). There were a total of 60 products that experienced a month on month decline, mainly concentrated in the chemical industry (21 products) and steel (11 products). The top three products with a decline were WTI crude oil (-4.40%), Brent crude oil (-4.14%), and PMMA (-1.84%).
