Analysis review
On the supply side, Ningbo Wanhua's 1.2 million ton MDI plant was experiencing low negative movement, causing some plants to shut down, resulting in tight product supply and delayed delivery. Huntsman's 120,000 ton plant in the Netherlands was temporarily shut down. Domestic supply remained tight, and manufacturers mainly fulfilled orders from old customers.
On the cost side, raw material benzene: Recently, the benzene market has continued to decline. As of October 18th, the benchmark price of benzene in SunSirs was 7,525 RMB/ton. Raw material aniline: As of October 18th, the domestic aniline market was stable after rising. As of October 18th, the benchmark price of aniline in SunSirs was 10,700 RMB/ton. The overall impact of aggregating MDI costs was relatively small.
On the demand side, the demand remained stable and followed up, with many inquiries and some models being out of stock.
Market outlook
The MDI export market demand was stable, domestic inventory remained low, and the supply shortage situation will continue for a period of time. It is expected that the MDI market will operate to be stronger in the short term.
