Price trend

This week (October 13-1018), the trading of dichloromethane market was weak, and the market in Shandong region remained stable but weakened. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of October 18th, the average price of bulk dichloromethane in Shandong Province was 2,850 RMB/ton, with a weekly decline of 1.04%.

Analysis review

The market transaction atmosphere was flat, demand follow-up was insufficient, factory inventory was gradually accumulating, and the market was stable with occasional declines. The demand side was mostly holding a wait-and-see and bearish attitude. As of October 18th, the ex factory price of mainstream dichloromethane in Shandong region was around 2, 790-2,910 RMB/ton.

Supply side: Large factories continued to shut down for maintenance, while methane chloride production was decreasing.

In terms of raw materials, the supply-demand contradiction in the methanol market still existed and the market was fluctuating and declining. According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, as of October 18th, the spot price of methanol was 2,456.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 4.69% from the beginning of the month. The upward trend of the liquid chlorine market has been temporarily suspended, and the enthusiasm of downstream buyers to enter the market had decreased. In addition, the sales volume of some liquid chlorine has increased, and the intention of enterprises to ship has increased, resulting in flexible adjustment of quotations.

In terms of demand, refrigerant demand remained stable, foreign trade market prices continued to rise, and reluctance to sell continued to be strong. R32's foreign trade retail market prices had significantly increased to be on par with the domestic market, and the quota control market continued to remain stable and upward.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the demand for essential procurement was strong, with a wait-and-see attitude and a backlog of inventory in the market. It is expected that the dichloromethane market will mainly focus on consolidation and operation.
