SunSirs: China Corrugated Paper Continues to Rise
https://www.chemnet.com Nov 15,2024 SunSirs
According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of corrugated paper still showed an upward trend this week. On November 14th, the average ex factory price of 140g corrugated paper was 2,624 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.31% compared to the average price of 2,616 RMB/ton on November 10th.
In terms of upstream raw materials, the price of waste paper in Zhejiang Province has continued to strengthen this week, with domestic paper mill waste paper prices stabilizing slightly. On November 14th, the average purchase price of A-grade waste yellow board paper in Zhejiang Province was 1,527 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.33% compared to the average price on November 10th. Recently, the inventory of waste paper raw materials in some paper mills has been at a low level, coupled with the market entering the peak season, which has led to an increase in the purchase price of waste paper.
On the supply side: The current market supply of corrugated paper is relatively stable, and some paper mills are still undergoing maintenance and shutdown, so the oversupply situation is still easing. In addition, multiple bases of large-scale paper mills have issued notices of continued price increases, and small and medium-sized paper mills are still actively following the trend. The low inventory level of paper enterprises has driven up paper prices.
On the demand side: With the rise in corrugated paper prices, the order volume of cardboard factories continues to increase, leading to an increase in procurement volume. The market has entered the peak season, with downstream market orders gradually increasing and paper mill inventory decreasing. In the atmosphere of buying up and not buying down, downstream procurement is more active.
SunSirs paper analysts believe that the market is currently in the digestion stage of corrugated paper price increases. With the gradual replenishment of downstream markets, market demand may slow down, and it is expected that the short-term price increase of corrugated paper will narrow.
