China's raw coal production data for 2025 was recently released, showing that industry concentration remains at a relatively high level, with output from large coal enterprises demonstrating a stable and slightly increasing trend.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the national industrial raw coal output above designated size reached 4.83 billion tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%; customs data shows that during the same period, national coal imports totaled 490 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.6%.

Statistics from the China National Coal Association indicate that in 2025, there were 15 directly reporting large coal enterprises with raw coal output exceeding 50 million tons, one fewer than the previous year, with a combined output of 2.70 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%.

Among them, the number of enterprises with output exceeding 100 million tons remained unchanged from the previous year, still at 7, with a combined output of 2.12 billion tons, largely consistent with last year. These seven enterprises are China Energy Investment Corporation (612 million tons, down 1.5% year-on-year), Jinneng Holding Group (408 million tons, up 1.5% year-on-year), Shandong Energy Group (279 million tons, up 0.7% year-on-year), China National Coal Group (273 million tons, down 0.4% year-on-year), Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group (258 million tons, up 2.4% year-on-year), Shanxi Coking Coal Group (185 million tons, up 1.6% year-on-year), and China Huaneng Group (109 million tons, down 2.1% year-on-year).

Additionally, there were 8 enterprises with output in the range of 50 million to 100 million tons, one fewer than the previous year, with a combined output of 570 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%, including Lu'an Chemical Group, State Power Investment Corporation, Xinjiang Tianchi Energy Company, and others.
