The United States initiates the first sunset review investigation on antidumping duties concerning difluoromethane.

On February 2, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the initiation of the first sunset review of the antidumping duty order on difluoromethane (R-32) imported from China. Concurrently, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) initiated the first sunset review investigation on the material injury aspect of the aforementioned product, to determine whether revocation of the existing antidumping measures would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the domestic industry within a reasonably foreseeable time. Interested parties must register with the U.S. Department of Commerce for participation in the review within 10 days from the date of publication of this notice. Interested parties are required to submit their responses to the ITC by March 4, 2026, and comments on the adequacy of the responses must be submitted to the ITC no later than April 13, 2026.

On February 13, 2020, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated an antidumping investigation on difluoromethane imported from China. On January 12, 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued its final determination in the antidumping investigation on difluoromethane from China.
