Chile Launches Proposal Solicitation for 2026 Power Transmission and Distribution Network Expansion Project
The Chilean National Energy Commission has officially launched the call for proposals for the 2026 Transmission and Distribution Network Expansion Project. This initiative is strictly conducted in accordance with Article 91 of Chile’s General Law on Electric Services, as well as Articles 81, 107, 108, and 109 of the Transmission System and Transmission Planning Regulations issued under Supreme Decree No. 37 of 2019 by the Ministry of Energy.
The submission window is set from February 20 to April 20, 2026. All application materials must be submitted via email to the officially designated address. The Chilean National Energy Commission explicitly requires that proposals meet the minimum techno-economic standards and relevant technical guidelines stipulated by the regulations. Within 60 days after the proposal submission deadline, the Commission reserves the right to request additional materials or clarifications from applicants. Proposals that do not meet the requirements will be directly rejected and excluded from subsequent evaluation.
This call for proposals aims to strengthen the long-term planning of Chile’s electricity system, promote the efficient, safe, and timely upgrade of transmission and distribution infrastructure, accommodate the growing deployment of renewable energy and the grid integration of photovoltaic and wind power projects, ensure the operational reliability of the power system, and support future investments in the clean energy sector.
