China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Vehicle exports in January reached 681,000 units, up 44.9% year-on-year, with new energy vehicle exports doubling.
On the afternoon of February 11, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers held a monthly information conference. Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the association, reported that China's automobile exports continued to grow in January, with new energy vehicle exports achieving rapid growth.
I. Overall Export Situation
In January, China exported 681,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 44.9%.
· New energy vehicle exports reached 302,000 units, doubling year-on-year;
· Traditional fuel vehicle exports reached 380,000 units, up 18.8% year-on-year.
II. Export Data by Vehicle Type
· Passenger vehicle exports reached 589,000 units, up 48.9% year-on-year;
· Commercial vehicle exports reached 93,000 units, up 23.6% year-on-year:
· Truck exports reached 79,000 units, up 22.7% year-on-year;
· Bus exports reached 13,000 units, up 29.5% year-on-year.
III. Performance of New Energy Vehicle Segments
In January, new energy vehicle exports reached 302,000 units, doubling year-on-year:
· New energy passenger vehicle exports reached 295,000 units, up 110% year-on-year;
· New energy commercial vehicle exports reached 6,000 units, down 1.4% year-on-year.
IV. Performance of Exporting Enterprises
Among the top ten enterprises in terms of complete vehicle exports in January, nine achieved positive growth: Chery, BYD, SAIC, Geely, Changan, Great Wall, Dongfeng, BAIC, and Sinotruk.
· Chery exported 119,000 vehicles, up 47.2% year-on-year, accounting for 17.4% of total exports;
· Geely led in growth rate, exporting 77,000 vehicles, up 140% year-on-year.
