Mosaic Reports Net Loss of $519 Million in Q4 2025, with Significant Pressure on Phosphate Fertilizer and Brazilian Operations

Mosaic Company, a leading US fertilizer giant, recently released its Q4 2025 financial report. Affected by weak demand in the US market and rising raw material costs, the company reported a net loss of $519 million for the quarter, compared to a net profit of $169 million in the same period last year.

The report showed that adjusted EBITDA for Q4 was $505 million, down 15.0% year-over-year; adjusted earnings per share were $0.22, a decrease of 51.1% from the previous year, significantly below market expectations of $0.47. Net sales for the quarter reached $3 billion, up 7.1% year-over-year.

By segment:

· Phosphate Business: Operating loss of $98 million, compared to an operating profit of $44 million in the same period last year; sales were $1 billion, down 20% year-over-year, primarily dragged down by weak demand in the US.

· Potash Business: Operating earnings of $58 million, down 52.8% year-over-year; net sales were $686 million, up 16.7% year-over-year, with international demand remaining strong.

· Brazil Business: Operating loss of $26 million, compared to an operating profit of $79 million in the same period last year; sales were $1.1 billion, flat year-over-year, impacted by credit pressures, intensified competition, and rapidly rising sulfur prices.
