Macroeconomics
1. [China Warehousing Index] China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing: Driven by the concentrated launch of major national infrastructure projects and a simultaneous recovery in manufacturing supply and demand, warehousing business demand has improved significantly, pushing the index back into expansion territory. In June, the China Warehousing Index stood at 50.2%, up 0.6 percentage points from the previous month.
2. [Eurozone PPI] The Eurozone Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 0.2% month-on-month in May, matching expectations; the previous month's figure was revised from 0.6% to 0.7%.
Chemicals
1. [Lithium Batteries] Industry data indicates that the total scheduled production volume for China’s lithium battery market (covering energy storage, power, and consumer electronics sectors) reached approximately 283 GWh in July 2026, a month-on-month increase of 5.6%; energy storage cells accounted for 42.9% of this total. Globally, the scheduled production plan for the same period stood at 296 GWh, up 5.3% month-on-month. This marks the fifth consecutive month that a record high has been set.
2. [Lithium Sulfate] According to an announcement by Yahua Group on July 6, the company's Zimbabwean subsidiary, KMC, is accelerating the development of a deep-processing project for lithium sulfate. With a total investment of approximately US$200 million, the project comprises a smelter and a sulfuric acid plant; it is designed with an annual processing capacity of 350,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate and an annual output of 75,000 tonnes of lithium sulfate, with operations scheduled to commence in 2027. Concurrently, KMC is developing a tin-niobium-tantalum separation project to ensure the comprehensive recovery of mineral resources.
3. [Lithium Carbonate] Italian energy giant Eni has invested $225 million to acquire a 25% stake in the Chilean "Black Giant" lithium project from the US company Energy Exploration Technologies, further expanding its presence in the battery and critical battery mineral sectors.
4. [Diethylene Glycol] From July 3 to July 5, the total volume of diethylene glycol shipped from two storage areas in Zhangjiagang was 679 tonnes, averaging approximately 226 tonnes per day. As of now, the combined inventory at these two locations stands at 6,800 tonnes.
5. [Aniline] On July 7, Dongying Caijin Chemical raised its aniline price by 500 RMB/ton; the new rates are 10,300 RMB/ton for spot cash payments and 10,400 RMB/ton for acceptance bill payments.
6. [Styrene] On July 7, Lihuayi Weiyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. quoted its styrene at 7,320 RMB/ton, a decrease of 30 RMB/ton from the previous trading day.
