Ministry of Commerce: China temporarily bans helium exports and will adjust policies dynamically based on supply and demand.

On July 16, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference. Regarding issues related to the temporary ban on helium exports, He Yadong, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, made an official response.

He Yadong stated that China is a major importer of helium. To stabilize domestic helium market supply and ensure the gas demand of downstream industries, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs jointly issued an announcement to implement a temporary ban on helium exports. This control measure fully complies with the relevant requirements of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, aligns with World Trade Organization rules, and has a solid legal basis.

The spokesperson clarified that the competent authorities will continue to monitor changes in the domestic and international helium supply and demand situation, and optimize and adjust relevant policies on helium export management in a timely manner based on actual market conditions.
