Recently, new materials industry projects in multiple locations in Jiangxi and Fujian have achieved key progress. Several projects involving lithium battery electrolytes, lithium battery additives, fluorine chemical pilot tests, and electronic-grade lithium-fluorine materials have completed environmental impact assessment (EIA) approvals and entered the substantive construction phase. This continues to improve the regional new energy and new materials industrial chain layout and assists the high-quality development of the new energy industry.

Among them, the Jiujiang Ecology and Environment Bureau centrally approved and completed the public disclosure of EIA documents for new materials projects from multiple enterprises on August 3; meanwhile, the Sanming New Energy and New Materials project in Fujian also disclosed its latest construction progress on August 2.

The specific details of each project are as follows:

Project 1: Jiujiang Tinci Advanced Materials Annual Output of 4,500 Tons of Sodium Electrolyte Project

Construction Unit: Jiujiang Tinci Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.

Project Nature: Modification and Expansion

Construction Location: Hukou High-tech Industrial Park, Jiangxi

Total Project Investment: 27.22 million yuan

Construction Content and Capacity: The project will modify the existing 518 production workshop, dismantling the original 500t/a lithium difluorophosphate production line, and simultaneously adding three sets of core production units for sodium electrolytes. These are a 3,000t/a (solid equivalent) sodium hexafluorophosphate unit, a 1,000t/a (solid equivalent) sodium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide unit, and a 500t/a (solid equivalent) sodium difluorophosphate unit. Upon completion, the total annual production capacity of sodium electrolytes will be 4,500 tons.

Latest Progress: On August 3, the project's EIA document was approved and publicized by the Jiujiang Ecology and Environment Bureau. The project will subsequently advance follow-up construction procedures in accordance with regulations.

Project 2: Jiujiang Tinci Advanced Materials Annual Output of 200 Tons of Lithium Battery Additive Project

Construction Unit: Jiujiang Tinci Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.

Project Nature: Modification and Expansion

Construction Location: Hukou High-tech Industrial Park, Jiangxi

Total Project Investment: 24.5 million yuan

Construction Content and Capacity: Relying on the existing 548 production workshop in the park for modification and expansion, new production equipment and supporting facilities will be added. Upon completion, the capacity for lithium difluorodioxalatophosphate lithium battery additive will increase by 200t/a (solid equivalent), further enriching the enterprise's lithium battery supporting material product system.

Latest Progress: On August 3, the project smoothly passed the EIA approval of the Jiujiang Ecology and Environment Bureau and completed public disclosure, laying an environmental compliance foundation for the project's implementation and construction.

Project 3: Jiangxi Lee Man Chemical Tetrafluoropropylene Pilot Project

Construction Unit: Jiangxi Lee Man Chemical Co., Ltd.

Project Nature: Expansion

Construction Location: Matou Industrial City, Ruichang Economic Development Zone, Jiangxi

Total Project Investment: 122.6232 million yuan

Construction Content and Capacity: Construction of a new set of tetrafluoropropylene (R1234yf) pilot unit with a designed annual output of 2,000 tons. This project is a pilot test project with the core objective of verifying core parameters of the production process, focusing on testing catalyst service life, reaction conversion rate, product selectivity, and actual unit capacity. Production will cease after complete and reliable process data are obtained from the pilot test.

Latest Progress: On August 3, the project's EIA document was approved and publicized by the Jiujiang Ecology and Environment Bureau. The designed pilot period for the project is 2 years.

Project 4: Sanming Runxiang New Materials Lithium Hexafluorophosphate and Electronic-grade Lithium Fluoride (Sodium) Construction Project

Construction Unit: Fujian Sanming Runxiang New Materials Co., Ltd.

Project Nature: Modification and Expansion

Construction Location: Jikou Circular Economy Industrial Park, Sanming

Total Project Investment: 35 million yuan

Construction Content and Capacity: The project implements technical modification and expansion, constructing specialized production lines for lithium fluoride (sodium) and lithium hexafluorophosphate, while simultaneously optimizing and adjusting the layout of existing water-based high-reflectivity ink production lines. Upon completion, it will achieve a production scale of an annual output of 800 tons of electronic-grade lithium fluoride, 200 tons of electronic-grade sodium fluoride, and 500 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate. Hydrochloric acid will be produced as a by-product during the production process.

Latest Progress: According to a report by the Sanming Media Convergence Center on August 2, the project has currently entered the stage of factory renovation and decoration, as well as the installation of some production equipment, with construction work advancing steadily.

Industry insiders stated that the accelerated concentrated implementation of lithium battery and fluorine chemical new materials projects in multiple locations in Jiangxi and Fujian during this round will effectively address regional shortcomings in new energy material production capacity. It will improve the supporting industrial chain for lithium battery electrolytes, additives, and high-end fluorine materials, assisting the large-scale and high-quality development of the new energy industry.
