Syensqo (formerly Solvay Specialty Polymers) is located in the Jiangsu Changshu New Materials Industrial Park for this technical renovation project, with a total investment of 35 million yuan. The project relies on the existing plant site to implement capacity upgrades without adding new construction land. Upon completion of the technical renovation, the company's PVDF capacity will expand to 12,500 tons/year, and fluoroelastomer capacity will increase to 4,000 tons/year, along with the co-production of by-product hydrochloric acid.

Syensqo's PVDF products can be applied in the field of lithium battery binders, and its fluororesin materials are suitable for the photovoltaic backsheet market. This expansion precisely aligns with the upstream and downstream demands of the new energy sector. The project involves the procurement of various equipment such as coolers, instruments, and valves, and achieves capacity release through process optimization, further consolidating the company's supply capabilities in the high-end fluoropolymer sector.

The energy conservation report for this project has been approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission (Su Fa Gai Neng Shen [2026] No. 77), which is a crucial preliminary procedure in the project's advancement. The market will continue to monitor the project's construction progress and assess changes in the domestic supply landscape for battery-grade PVDF and high-end fluoroelastomers following production commencement.
