The third reduction since June, domestic flight fuel surcharges will be adjusted starting August 5.
New ticket sales standards effective from August 5, two tiers of fees reduced simultaneously
It has been learned from multiple domestic airlines that the fuel surcharge standards for domestic route tickets sold starting August 5 will welcome a new round of reductions.
After the adjustment, the fuel surcharge for domestic routes is: 40 yuan for adult passengers on routes of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less; 70 yuan for adult passengers on routes over 800 kilometers. Compared to before the adjustment, the reduction per person on routes over 800 kilometers reaches 30 yuan, and the reduction per person on routes of 800 kilometers or less is 10 yuan.
This reduction only applies to tickets sold on and after August 5. Tickets issued in advance but not yet traveled will not retroactively enjoy this price reduction policy.
Third reduction since June, travel costs continue to fall
This is the third reduction for domestic fuel surcharges since June of this year. Domestic fuel surcharges and aviation kerosene prices operate under a linkage mechanism. According to relevant civil aviation policies, when the comprehensive procurement cost of aviation kerosene changes by a certain threshold, airlines can adjust the fuel surcharge collection standards accordingly. Driven by the continuous decline in international crude oil and domestic aviation kerosene prices, domestic airlines have lowered surcharges for multiple consecutive rounds, continuously reducing the burden on travelers.
After multiple rounds of reductions, the fuel surcharge for short-haul routes has returned to a lower range. Calculating for a single person on a round-trip short-haul route (within 800 kilometers), travelers can save a total of 20 yuan; for long-haul round-trip routes over 800 kilometers, a total of 60 yuan can be saved, directly reducing the expenses for public visiting relatives and traveling during the summer vacation.
Summer travel peak season, beneficial for tourism and civil aviation consumer market
Currently, it is the peak summer travel season for civil aviation, with tourism and student travel overlapping, and the passenger volume in the domestic civil aviation market remains high. The reduction in fuel surcharges will further release residents' demand for air travel, benefiting the summer tourism market.
Industry insiders stated that the continuous reduction of fuel surcharges can drive down the comprehensive travel costs of tickets, stimulating some price-sensitive travelers to choose air travel. However, it should be noted that children and infants enjoy fuel surcharge reduction/exemption policies under current rules: infant passengers are exempt from fuel surcharges; children are charged half of the adult standard for fuel surcharges.
Subsequent changes will still be linked to oil prices
The fuel surcharge is not a fixed fee; subsequent collection standards will still be dynamically linked to the domestic aviation kerosene procurement price. If kerosene prices rebound significantly later, the possibility of raising fuel surcharges again cannot be ruled out. Major airlines remind广大 travelers that the fuel surcharge amount displayed in real-time on the booking page at the time of purchase shall prevail.
Tip: This adjustment only applies to tickets newly sold from August 5 onwards. For tickets purchased before August 5, regardless of when the flight takes off, the difference in fuel surcharges will not be refunded.
