CITGO Invests $310 Million to Upgrade Its Lake Charles Refinery

On September 1st, CITGO officially announced the debutanizer upgrading and renovation project of its Lake Charles refinery, with a total investment of 310 million US dollars, which is a core medium and long-term upgrading project for the refinery. This technical renovation will add supporting devices and equipment, focus on improving the deep processing level of naphtha, realize the conversion of low-value fractions into high-value gasoline blending components, and effectively optimize the raw material utilization structure. After the project is completed, it will significantly improve the flexibility of the refinery's production operations, enhance the ability to stabilize and supply refined oil products, and consolidate the long-term competitiveness of the units.
