As of September 1st, the new customs codes shall be used for declaration when importing and exporting batteries.

On August 28, the General Administration of Customs released an announcement to implement the policy on adjusting consumption tax on certain batteries announced in Announcement No. 20 of 2026 issued by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs and the State Taxation Administration, and publicly released the detailed customs commodity codes corresponding to the battery products involved in the policy.

This announcement will officially take effect on September 1, 2026. When enterprises go through the import and export declaration procedures for relevant battery products, they shall declare according to the codes listed in the Table of Customs Commodity Codes Corresponding to Battery Products.
