FOR IUCLID 5 USERS: IUCLID 5 SNIF MIGRATION PLUG-IN RELEASED

https://www.chemnet.com   Nov 10,2008

Today ECHA has launched the IUCLID 5 SNIF migration plug-in. It is available for download on the IUCLID website. The new tool makes it easy for companies to reuse data stored in SNIF files in their IUCLID 5 databases.

The new IUCLID 5 tool is intended for companies who have previously notified new substances under Directive 67/548/EEC. They can use it for transferring data contained in SNIF (Structured Notification Interchange Format) export files into the IUCLID 5 format, either as a Substance dataset (editable version) or a Dossier (read-only version) depending on the user’s choice. The migrated data can then be imported into any IUCLID 5 installation.

This tool is provided as a plug-in that can be installed either in the standalone or the distributed versions of the IUCLID 5 application.

Note: IUCLID 5 users who have never created SNIF files or do not have to process them should not install this new tool. ECHA recommends that a user installs the SNIF plug-in only if he is intending to use it.
