ECHA website revamped to allow easier access to information

https://www.chemnet.com   Apr 23,2008
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is pleased to announce the revamping of its website, http://echa.europa.eu. The renewed website delivers timely, well-organized information that is easier to navigate for industry, authorities and other audiences interested in REACH.

The multilingual ECHA website, which has been online since 1 June 2007, has now been reorganised and updated. The main navigation has been moved from the top of the page to the left hand column. This allows access to new menu items like pre-registration section, which was published last week, via the main navigation. Publications and Links were also added to the main menu as part of the revamping. REACH-IT (access point to REACH-IT portal) and ECHA-CHEM-Data (section providing access to data on chemicals) will be added shortly.

A new feature for the website is an improved language selection. Before the change of a language version took the user to the home page of ECHA. Now the language menu displays only the available languages relevant for each page and when the user chooses one of them he is transferred directly to the same page in the preferred language.

In the next few weeks, ECHA will continue to develop its website further. The most important changes are announced in the News panel on the home page.
