REACH-IT TO BE UPGRADED – SYSTEM CLOSED 13–16 FEBRUARY

https://www.chemnet.com   Feb 13,2009
Over the coming weekend, ECHA will upgrade REACH-IT to address performance issues related to the searching and viewing of pre-registrations & pre-SIEFs, and the pre-SIEF XML download. REACH-IT is scheduled to be off line from 3pm Friday 13 February until 2pm Monday 16 February. Any change to this schedule will be announced on the ECHA website under REACH-IT/Portal.

A new version of REACH-IT was installed on 5 January 2009 to support the submission of all types of dossiers and SIEF formation after pre-registration. The performance of the system turned out to be below expectations and therefore ECHA upgraded it for the first time in late January. Since then, the system has been more stable and down time has been practically eliminated. In order to address remaining performance issues a more comprehensive system upgrade will be installed over the coming weekend. It will improve the way the information is stored in the database and how it can be accessed.

The optimisation of the data storage and access to data will enhance:
• Viewing and downloading of Pre-SIEFs,
• Viewing of Pre-registrations, • Creation and viewing of Joint Submissions, and
• Searching of pre-registrations and within pre-SIEFs. The search will perform better both in relation to industry and also the authorities.

The upcoming upgrade requires that all data in the REACH-IT database be migrated into the new structure before it is made available online. It is estimated this may take in excess of 70 hours and therefore the installation is scheduled to take place between: Friday 13 February (15:00EET) – Monday 16 February (14:00 EET) Any change to this timetable will be announced on the Portal page in the REACH-IT section of the ECHA website.
