ECHA PUBLISHES WORKSHOP REPORT ON AUTHORISATION

https://www.chemnet.com   Apr 09,2009

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) organised a workshop to discuss the implementation of the Authorisation process under REACH on 21 – 22 January 2009. It was attended by representatives of the Agency, EU Member States and the European Commission.

The objective of the workshop was to reach a general understanding of the aims and scope of the REACH authorisation process which entered into force on 1 June 2008. The discussion focused in particular on the role of the Candidate and Authorisation Lists and factors that should be taken into account when deciding on the most effective option (authorisation, restriction or other EU legislation) to manage the risks from chemical substances of very high concern.

The workshop proceedings summarise the main outcomes and recommendations of the workshop. The document contains also all workshop presentations.
