Sinopec has started construction of the Xiangtan-Loudi, Xiangtan-Hengyang and Hengyang-Chenzhou sections of the oil product pipeline between Changsha and Chenzhou in Hunan, C1 learned from sources with Sinopec. Thus all the sections for this pipeline are under construction.

The company is expected to bring the three sections on stream at the end of 2012.

The oil product pipeline between Changsha and Chenzhou, or Shangsha-Loudi-Hengyan-Chenzhou oil product pipeline, is Sinopec's phase-II oil product pipeline project in Central China's Hunan. It will connect the oil product pipeline between Yueyang and Xiangtan in Xiangtan and go west to Loudi, south to Dapu and Leiyang before reaching Chenzhou. It has an annual design transportation capacity of 2.5-mil mt for gasoil and gasoline in combination, to deliver products from Changling Petrochemical and Baling Petrochemical.
The pipeline may stretch to Shaoguang in Guangdong and join the oil product pipeline in the Pearl River Delta, said a source with Sinopec.

Sinopec put the oil product pipeline between Yueyang and Xiangtan cities into service in June 2008. This pipeline has a design capacity of 6-mil mt/yr.
