Operating rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 42.1% Thursday, down 4.3 percentage points from one week ago, 15.1 percentage points higher than a year earlier, C1's research showed.

Some refineries shut crude distillate units for maintenance in the past week, with shutdown capacities totaling 3.3-mil-mt per year, according to refinery sources.

As of Mar 10, a total of 24 independent refineries were in operation, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 69,000mt per day, down 7,050mt on week.

C1's research involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 60.05-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
