China imported 19.95-mil mt of crude in February, sharply down 8.49% on month while up 7.78% on yearly comparison, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.

February's daily crude imports climbed 1.3% from the previous month for there were only 28 calendar days during the month.

China's crude imports might go down in March due to maintenance peak of Sinopec and PetroChina, market sources expected.

The GAC data also indicated that China exported only 80,000mt of crude in February, plunging 71.43% on month, down 63.64% year-on-year. The nation's crude exports in January and February totaled 360,000mt, slightly up 5.88% from the same period last year.
