A 1.2-mil-mt/yr continuous reformer and 200,000-mt/yr benzene extraction combination unit at Yan'an Refinery was shut down for maintenance because of glitch, according to a source with Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group, parent of the refinery.

The maintenance is expected to last about a week, revealed the source.
Yan'an Refinery usually produced 6,000mt of gasoline and 7,000mt of gasoil daily, the source said without giving more details.

Due to gasoline shortage, Yanchang Petroleum halted wholesale supply recently.
Yan'an Refinery, located in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is one of the three subsidiary refineries of Yanchang Petroleum. The refinery has a topping capacity of 8-mil mt per year, with second processing capacity reaching 4-mil mt per year.
