China recorded 1.43-mil mt of gasoline exports in the first half of 2011, slightly up 1.65% from a year earlier, showed data from the General Administration of Customs.
State-owned oil majors Sinopec and PetroChina were prudent in exporting gasoline in the first quarter because of supply crunch, market sources pointed out.
The nation's gasoline exports may drop in the second quarter as Sinopec would suspend exports to countries or regions except Hong Kong and Macau to guarantee domestic supply, the sources expected.
The Ministry of Commerce set oil product export quota for the second quarter at 1-mil mt, sharply down 60% compared with the corresponding period last year.
China exported 469,300mt of gasoline in March, up 16.31% on month, down 21.05% year-on-year, according to the data.
