China to eliminate CDU with capacity below 2-mil-mt/yr by 2013

China will shut crude distillate unit with annual capacity below 2-mil mt by the end of 2013, excluding Gelmud Refinery in Qinghai and Zepu Refinery in Xinjiang, according to Guidance Catalog for Adjustment of Industrial Structure (2011) lately issued by the National Development and Reform Commission.
A total of 25 major refineries should be closed, crude processing capacities of which aggregate 26.1-mil mt annually, C1's data showed.
The annual capacity to be eliminated for Sinopec, PetroChina and CNOOC is 9.2-mil mt, 7.4-mil mt and 8-mil mt, respectively, indicated C1's data.
