Operating rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 38.9% Thursday, slightly up 1.6 percentage points from one week ago, 5.9 percentage points higher than a year earlier, C1's research showed.

Hualian Petrochemical resumed operation after wrapping up maintenance of a 1.2-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit, boosting the overall run rate.

As of Apr 28, a total of 23 independent refineries were in operation, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 64,000mt per day, up 2,700mt on week.

C1’s research involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 60.05-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
