A source based in Middle East informed a polymerupdate team member on the expansion plans of an ethylene plant operated by Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.S.

The source said, "located at Aliaga in Turkey, the ethylene plant has a production capacity of 520,000 tonnes/year."

The source added, "expansion at the plant will raise the production capacity by 10 percent. The ethylene plant is being expanded in response to the growing demand for ethylene in the country. The plant is expected to start operations at the expanded levels by 2012."
