Operating rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 43.9% Thursday, down 1.1 percentage points from one week ago, down 2.1 percentage points compared with a year earlier, C1’s research showed.

As of Jul 14, a total of 25 independent refineries were in operation, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 74,400mt per day, down 1,800mt on week.

Shandong Zhenghe Group and Qingdao Anbang Petrochemical both went into overall turnarounds in the past week. Daily crude throughput of the two refineries was 2,800mt and 2,000mt, respectively. China Offshore Bitumen hiked throughput from 3,300mt to 6,300mt per day with a 1-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit back into operation.

C1’s research involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 61.85-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
