March Braskem polyethylene offer prices to the Andean countries (Peru, Colombia and Ecuador) were set to increase at least $50/mt, a company source said.

"We still don't know where exactly the offers are going to be, but we might have the final decision on Wednesday," said the source.

In February, Braskem's polyethylene offers to the Andean area were heard at $1,600/mt CFR for HDPE film and injection, $1,560/mt CFR for HDPE blow molding and LLDPE butene and at $1,580/mt CFR for LDPE film.

"For March, we might still be very short in LLDPE butene and polypropylene for the Brazilian export side," added the source.

For polypropylene, Braskem offers for March should jump at least $100/mt over February.

"Last month our polypropylene offer to the Andean countries went up $100/mt, and we should see the same price movement for March due to the international market conditions," the source said.

In February, Brazilian polypropylene offers to Peru and Ecuador were heard at $1,650/mt CFR for homo raffia, injection and film and at $1,700/mt CFR for co-polymer.

To Colombia, Braskem's offers were at $1,700/mt CFR for homo-polymer and at $1,750/mt CFR for co-polymer.

According to a Peruvian buyer, Asia still had the most attractive offers in the country's market.

Asian offers to Peru were heard at $1,620/mt CFR for HDPE film, $1,560/mt CFR for LLDPE butene and at $1,610/mt CFR for HDPE injection.

Bids in the country were around $1,590/mt CFR for HDPE film, $1,520/mt CFR for LLDPE butene and at $1,580/mt CFR for HDPE injection.

Polypropylene offers from Asia to Peru were at $1,650/mt CFR for homo-polymer and at $1,700/mt CFR for co-polymer with bids around $1,610/mt CFR for homo-polymer and at $1,660/mt CFR for co-polymer.
