Yancoal has declared force majeure on its Middlemount mine, as a result of the cyclone conditions affecting Queensland, the company confirmed Tuesday.

"It remains too early to determine the full impacts of the cyclone upon ports and rail," a Yancoal spokesman said, adding that the duration of the force majeure has yet to be determined.

The Middlemount mine is Yancoal's second biggest, producing PCI and hard coking coal.
