PUWORLD(2010-05-31)——According to statistics released by China Customs House, imports volume of MEG in China decreased by 55078 tons to 633737 tons, declining by around 8% in April.

Statistics changed a lot in volume from South Korea, Canada, Japan and Taiwan. In March, imports from South Korea increased by 50.1% to 55334 tons while imports from Japan went down by 63.7% to 3775 tons. Meanwhile, imports from Canada declined from 83566 tons in March to 69574 tons in April. Besides, imports from Taiwan reduced by 26526 tons to 112794 tons in April.

The sharp decreases were largely due to ample stockpiles in the east ports of China. In the first four months of this year, imports volume rose by 16.5% to 2325758 tons compared with 1996151 tons in the same period of last year.
