PUWORLD(2010-06-12)——Yesterday at a press conference, Peter Sykes, new president of Dow Greater China said that Dow would quicken the pace of market development in mainland area after he analyzed economic situation and market growth in domestic market.
Then, he furtherly explained that China’s export decreased due to the dropping demand from Europe market. However, as there was still long way to go before European countries could recover from economic recession, the sustainable growth in China’s economy required domestic demand and consumption. Besides, he emphasized an important role that China’s twelfth five-year plan would play in economic trend. According to Dow’s prediction, economic growth in mainland would probably provide more opportunities for its development.
As yet, Dow possessed five service centers and twenty production sites in Greater China area while its investment in China amounted to $0.9 billion. In 2009, with its sales reaching $3.7 billion in Greater China area, China has become the second largest market of Dow Chemical.
