CNPC’s Refining Project in Qinzhou Would Probably Put on Stream Late This Month

CNPC’s refining project in Qinzhou would probably put on stream in the end of this month and was predicted to put into commercial operation around August. By that time, its production capacity of crude oil would amount to 201,000 barrels every day.


Phase I Project started construction on Dec. 30th, 2006, with total investment of Rmb 15.2 billion. After its completion, annual capacity would reach 10 million tons and its output value of industry would exceed Rmb 40 billion.


Phase II project includes 10 million t/y oil refining project, 1 million t/y ethylene project, 1 million t/y aromatic hydrocarbon project, 3 million-ton crude oil depot project, 1 million-ton oil depot and 0.3 million-ton dock. Total investment in Phase I and Phase II was higher at Rmb 77.2 billion while its sales could reach Rmb 155 billion after it was put into operation.
