https://www.chemnet.com Jul 19,2010
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced today that it will host a webcast to discuss possible changes in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation of four water contaminants. The webcast, Implications of EPA’s Review of Existing Regulations, will be held on Wednesday, July 28, at 1:00 p.m. EDT/ 10 a.m. PDT.
AWWA is offering this webcast in response to the recent publication of EPA’s six-year review of 71 existing drinking water standards. During the review, the agency determined that they may tighten standards on four contaminants, namely acrylamide, epichlorohydrin, trichloroethylene (TCE), and tetrachloroethylene (PCE).
During this webcast, presenters will explain how the EPA conducted the review, why they selected these four specific contaminants for potential regulatory revisions, and discuss possible implications for utilities.
Webcast presenters include Wynne Miller and Rajiv Khera of the Environmental Protection Agency and Alan Roberson, AWWA Director of Security and Regulatory Affairs.
