German-Czech GATRAC introduces day-ahead gas capacity booking
https://www.chemnet.com Aug 04,2010
GATRAC, a cross-border partnership of the Czech gas transmission system
operator NET4GAS and Germany's ONTRAS-VNG Gastransport, said Tuesday it
planned to introduce the possibility to book day-ahead capacity.
At the same time, the company has improved the technology of its trading
platform to simplify the booking process.
The new day-ahead booking option will be available from autumn this year,
when customers will also be able to combine now separate procedures into a
"simple click and book system," the company said.
So far it was only possible to book seasonal capacity via the GATRAC
platform, a spokesman for ONTRAS-VNG Gastransport told Platts.
GATRAC said the extended service would contribute to the further
integration of European gas market and was in line with the requirements of
the Third Energy Package of the European Commission.
The GATRAC trading platform was set up in 2007 by the two partners, when
a joint access to the gas transmission system from the Czech-Slovak border to
Steinitz in Germany was established.
