Münster. BASF Coatings GmbH in Münster, Germany, and the Audatex GmbH in Stansstad, Switzerland, have agreed to comprehensive international cooperation. As part of the Solera Group, Audatex is a top solutions provider for the processing of collision damage and an established partner of insurance companies, bodyshops, carmakers and automotive experts. The majority of computerized damage estimates are based on an Audatex calculation. Jan Koolen, Senior Director Industry Relations at the Solera Global Automotive Center, is excited about the new partnership. "BASF Coatings is the first company from the coatings sector with which we have concluded such an agreement on an international level." Uwe Bauschulte, Key Account Management Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions Europe of BASF Coatings, said:"This contract will help both sides solidify their leading market positions. The cooperation with Audatex supports bodyshops in adjusting better to the demands of "work providers," such as insurance companies, and thus becoming even more successful in the market."

"Audatex is a crucial communications interface with the insurance companies. Our new partner knows every step of the increasingly complex communication between bodyshops, insurance companies, experts and car owners," said Bauschulte.

BASF Coatings, in turn, will recommend the Audatex range of products and solutions in its "Value Added Services," the services for bodyshops and paint shops. "Audatex offers more than just damage estimates. Repair centers receive everything directly from the experts they need to settle claims, such as a complete management system as well as vehicle appraisal solutions including fast electronic damage communication," said Koolen.

This business model will first be tested in Poland, Turkey, Russia and Spain as pilot test markets. Additional countries in Western and Eastern Europe will follow in the coming months.
