August butadiene prices for the Brazilian domestic market were heard at $2,265/mt FOB, an increase of 2.2% over July, said a Braskem source.

Generally, Brazilian butadiene contract prices follow the USGC movements.

Butadiene demand in the Brazilian domestic market was falling during the last few months.

"Even though the automobile market is doing very well, the tire industry is not very strong, making domestic butadiene demand to be quite depressed. To remedy the situation, we have lately been increasing our butadiene exports," said the source.

The first July Brazilian butadiene export happened on the 15th for the quantity of 4,000/mt toward US, the second export took place in the last week
of July in the quantity of 4,500/mt.

In August, the next butadiene export to US should happen on the 26 in the quantity of 4,000 tons.
