Sinopec Yanshan Petrochemical has basically reached an agreement with the Dalian Inteh Chemical Logistics on shipping its LPG to southern China with containers, a senior with the latter company said.

LPG from Yanshan Petrochemical would first be stored in containers before delivered by truck to Tianjin port in North China, where the LPG containers would be shipped, the source introduced.

LPG supply was in glut in North China at present due to limited demand from local market, with commodity output totaling 4,500mt a day, a survey showed.
However, Yanshan Petrochemical has yet to ship out LPG so far, as the arbitrage window was closed.

Truck price of LPG was Yuan 4,785/mt in North China Friday and freight rate between the region and Nansha port of South China was about Yuan 450/mt, versus Yuan 5,269/mt of truck price in South China.

Dalian Inteh Chemical Logistics was now also negotiating with PetroChina's LPG wholesale subsidiary Kunlun Gas on transporting LPG from PetroChina Dagang Petrochemical to southern China by container ships, according to the senior with Dalian Inteh Chemical Logistics. The two parties are expected to enter into an agreement at the end of this year at the earliest, he added.
Both Yanshan Petrochemical and Dagang Petrochemical are located in inland areas of North China.
