China's Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical is currently running its steam crackers and butadiene plants normally, sources close to the company said Friday.

The company had shut down its 400,000 mt/year No. 1 naphtha-fed steam cracker at Nanjing, in eastern China's Jiangsu province, late last Thursday, following a fire that broke out at the cracker, S&P Global Platts had reported. Sources close to the company said on Friday that the cracker was restarted over the last weekend and its operations have come back to normal.

The sources also said that the company's butadiene output at the same location was disrupted just after the cracker shutdown but has now recovered to normal. Sinopec Yangzi has a 200,000 mt/year butadiene plant there.
